I think David Allan Coe sings with pure soul in his voice. He's always been a favourite of mine.
You can feel David Allan Coe's soul in his songs whether he sings "The Ride", "You'll always live inside of me", Bob Dylan's "You Gotta Serve Somebody, etc, etc.
RADIO NEEDS DAVID ALLAN COE

Chorus -
Where did you go, David Allan Coe
Your music kept me sane, for many years now
I like to sing again, thanks to your refrains
The radio needs David Allan Coe
Back in 82, found a copy of Tattoo
I heard your daddy was a God-fearing man
You played a sad song, with beautiful harmonies
Now your music always lives inside of me.
... Chorus & Music break...
That Tennessee Whiskey, a bottle in your hand
Going back to Mary Magdeleine
Did you take a little time off, for bad behaviour
David, you just gotta ride again.
Ending...
Was it really Hank, who took you on The Ride
And did Mona Lisa, actually lose her smile
You know that woman loved you a lot
Now she don't even call you by your name.
